Black Bear Idaho
In north central Idaho there is a unique Black bear honey hole that produces large bears on a yearly basis. With the correct nutrition and age these bears are able to grow to their full potential. This mountainous area is littered with old homesteads which are surrounded by thousands of fruit trees, such as plum, apple, cherry, chokecherry, pear to name a few. Bears travel from miles around to take advantage of this rare and favored food source. This outfitter has access to these private areas which allows him to control harvest numbers and trophy quality.
This family run operation has been running hounds for many years in north central Idaho. This outfitter has the area, the experience, and the hounds to show his hunters a great adventure. There is NO baiting allowed in this area so you will need to find a fresh track and let the hounds tree the bear. With the bear treed, you can judge trophy quality and take your time making a well-placed shot. You can hunt with rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, or archery equipment.
Spring hunts run from May 1st -31st and fall hunts are from September 15th-October 9th. These 5 day hunts include home style lodging and home cooked meals. Airport transportation from Lewistown, ID is also included. Bears in this area are black, chocolate, and cinnamon colored.
