Rocky Mountain Elk New Mexico
The wilderness of southern New Mexico has earned the reputation of producing not only big bulls but a quality hunting experience. This outfitter has built a reputation on giving 110% on each hunt and enjoying a high success rate. Based out of Albuquerque, this outfitter can access many different trophy units to scout and hunt. Because of the wide variety of units, hunt dates, and weapon choices each hunt is customized for the hunter. Camp can consist of a hotel, a cabin, or a wall tent camp. A camp cook is included in the cabin and tent camp hunts or local restaurants are used from the motel accommodations.
New Mexico does not have a point system for their limited license draw. This results in a totally random draw system giving each applicant the same draw odds. Optional transferable landowner tags can also be purchased in many locations. The limited draw system, large wilderness areas, and large private ranches allow the bulls to stay unpressured and callable throughout the rut. The draw system also allows these bulls to grow to their full antler potential. You are able to hunt bugling bulls during the rut with bow, muzzleloader, or rifle.
Bulls over 320” are target animals in these areas, but these hunts have been known to produce bulls over the magical 400” mark. This outfitter is also the ideal choice for handicapped hunters looking to take a majestic bull elk.

OAS client Mark was able to take this trophy elk on a recent trip to New Mexico. Mark was hunting during the muzzle loader season which offers the chance to catch the tail end of the rut while hunting with a weapon with a little longer reach then a bow.
